For a professed football guy, TheBeast understood the basketball comparison I was trying to make. Let's say those percentages were flipped. Let's say Coeburn gets 14 of 28 free throws to go down while GC goes 3 of 8. That's an 11 point swing and a 9 point win for Coeburn, if you want to extrapolate #'s as you did. It's all about the attempts. At one point last night, Coeburn had 9 team fouls to GC's 2 in the 2nd half. This was with 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. TELL ME there's not a discrepancy there that goes directly to the # of foul shots GC gets to attempt. If you can, with a straight face, say that--then you know less about the game than I thought you did Veritas.

Sure, I'll agree with that. But let me also add to that the free throw attempt discrepancy was plus 20 for GC last night, and the point swing was 9 when you put in the made FT's. So in other words, both teams shot the same percentage basically from the line, but due to GC shooting MORE free throws in the game, they got a 9 point advantage. Coeburn made up 7 of it given the final tally, couldn't over come the last 2 of the deficit built in due to made free throws.
